You need to remove the scaling if it no longer applies, or if you need to change marks for an item, component or assessment that's already been scaled.

You need to remove the scaling if it no longer applies, or if you need to change marks for an item, component or assessment that's already been scaled.

If you need to change scaled marks, please also see changing scaled marks for guidance before continuing to remove scaling.

You can remove scaling for one student at a time via their little i button. The course result must be unratified in order to access the "Remove scaling" button.

Scaling can also be removed using the 'Remove scaling' action in the Process Course Results screen, this will remove all scaling from the selected students. You will need to re-calculate the course results to return them to the original marks.

How to remove scaling via the little i button

  1. Go to Process Course Results
  2. Locate the student and click their little i button
  3. Click Remove scaling
  4. Select the option to remove scaling. You can choose:
    • Just remove scaling: this removes the scaling, allowing you to change marks and calculate new course results at a later point in time
    • Remove scaling and recalculate: this removes the scaling and then recalculates a new course result

The scaling will now be removed.

How to remove scaling via the Process Course Results screen
  1. Go to Process Course Results
  2. Select the students you want to remove scaling from using the check boxes
  3. Click Action
  4. Select Remove scaling and click continue

The scaling will now be removed. Re-calculate the course result to return it to the original value.
