Our Student Surveys team assists colleagues who use our data to support decision making. As the University’s central point of contact for information on student surveying activity, the team: gains feedback from students on their Edinburgh experience identifies opportunities to enhance the student experience helps staff interpret and use our survey results communicates to students any actions taken as a result of our surveys Key areas of focus Our surveys Our primary surveys include: the National Student Survey the Edinburgh Student Experience Survey the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey the New Students Survey the International Student Barometer EvaSys implementation We work with school-based colleagues across the University to help them implement EvaSys, the University’s course evaluation tool. The surveying software allows for the mass generation of bespoke course evaluation surveys and reports and has, to date, been adopted by the majority of schools. University-wide surveys: application assistance If you wish to conduct a University-wide survey, or one that extends beyond one school, you must apply to the Student Surveys Ethics Committee for permission. Contact our team in the first instance, and we will assist you with your application and liaise with the committee on your behalf. The Committee comprises representatives from Student Services and the three colleges. It will consider the timing and content of your survey along with any potential ethical issues.
