This should be used for any situation where the credits should not count in the academic year, including if it's additional credit If the student has failed a course in one academic year and is resitting it in the next, you'll need to consider if the earlier course enrolment should be badged to "Non-counting credit". Otherwise the calculations may show the student is enrolled in too many credits. "Non-counting credit" or "Disregard course from award calculations"? "Non-counting credit" means neither the course mark nor the course credits will be used in award calculation. For example, if the student is enrolled in 120 credits in Year 1 and you set one 20-credit course as "Non-counting credit", then the Progression and Awards calculation details will show that 120 credits were expected but 100 credits were calculated. "Disregard course from award calculations" means the course mark will not be used in award calculation, but the course credits will still be used.
