Open a new case

How to open a new case in the Case Management System (CMS).

1. Open the Case Management System (CMS).

2. Click the "+Open new case" button on the right hand side of the screen.

3. Enter the student’s name or matriculation number and click the ‘continue’ button.

4. The case will be pre-populated with some information pulled over from the student’s record.

5. If there is already an open case for this student, this will be highlighted at the top of the page.  You may want to cancel this case and add to the already open case.  If so, click the ‘cancel’ button at the bottom of the page.

6. ​ If you wish to continue with opening this case select the method by which the contact has been made, enter details of the enquiry in the summary field, select the request type and initial status and click the ‘add case’ button.

7. At this point you can choose if an email is sent to the student to state that a case has been opened for them and it will quote the case number as a reference point.
