Record a null sit by changing the student's grade to NS. You can do this for multiple students at once from the Process Course Results screen or for an individual student in their little i button. Change grades from Process Course Results You can select one or more students in the Process Course Results screen and change their grade to NS at the same time. This will only change the grade - not the mark - and it will remain provisional so you'll still need to ratify and publish it. Process with screenshots Document Change grades from Process Course Results (912.71 KB / PDF) Process summary Go to Process Course Results Filter or search for the students you want Select the students Use the tick boxes on the left to select all or specific students Click the Action menu and select 'Change grades' Check the information on the pop up box (i.e. the number of student's you've selected) Choose the Null sit (NS) grade from the drop down list and click Save changes The grades will now be changed to null sit. If you need to add notes for these students the fastest way would be to filter the list to only show null sits and then add them for each student via the small pencil icon to the right of the student's UUN. You can then ratify and publish the result (see Next steps below). Change the grade for an individual student You can change the grade for a single student from Process Course Results as per above. You can also change it from the student's little i button following the process below. Process with screenshots Document Change the course result for an individual student (665.38 KB / PDF) Process summary Go to the Process Course Results screen Locate the student and click the little i button beside their name Their individual assessment record will now open in a new browser tab Click Amend final mark Change the grade to NS Save changes You can add notes in the Course note field and then ratify and publish (see Next steps below). Next steps The NS result needs to be ratified so it doesn't show as 'provisional' on the progression reports. If it's still provisional it can cause delays to processing, especially if the course is in another school and they need to check if the result is confirmed. It should also be published so the NS grade shows in the Student Hub and so the student sees the result on their EUCLID account. They'll see the description: "Null sit - special circumstances: does not count as an assessment attempt". Ratify Publish This article was published on 2024-07-29
