This assessment scenario explores the setup needed to create assessments that can only be undertaken by a group of students within a course. Where a group of students within a course instance are to undertake a different assessment from the rest of the cohort, a Group must be created.Create an assessment for the GroupIn the "Set Up Assessments" screen, click the "Build Structure" button and add an assessment for the Group. To avoid confusion and mistakes, please ensure each assessment in the whole structure has a different name. Please see the assessment set up page for detailed guidance on creating an assessments. Create the Group and assign students to the GroupOnce you have created an assessment, from the "Set Up Assessments" screen, click the "Build Structure" button and select "Add Group". Give the Group a name of no more than two characters in length, and select the students to be added to the Group from the class list. Click "Save and Continue" at the top of the page. Image Image Assign assessments to the GroupThe "Assign Group" button will have now appeared against each assessment. Select the appropriate assessment to move it from the main cohort and assign it to the group. Notice that the weightings have now shifted. For every Group created, you must have an assessment assigned to it, otherwise you will not be able to proceed with mark entry against the newly created Group.Students within a Group cannot do the same assessment as the rest of the cohort. Remove assessmentsTo remove an assessment from a Group, click the "Assign Group" button and select "None (remove from group)".You cannot add/remove an assessment if marks have been entered for that assessment.
