You can publish or unpublish provisional item or assessment marks to students during the year so they can view their progress. This process will not calculate or publish the final course results, only the item or assessment marks you select. Publish provisional marksThe level of marks you can publish depends on the assessment type and structure.Coursework assessment typesIf the assessment has NO components and items underneath you can publish the provisional marks once they have been entered. The assessment mark and grade will be displayed to the student once published.If the assessment has components and items, you'll only be able to publish the item marks. Even if the component and assessment marks have been calculated, these won’t be published until the overall course result is.Exam assessment typesOnly the overall exam assessment mark can be published to the student.If the exam has NO components and items, you can publish the provisional marks once they have been entered.If the exam has components and items, you need to calculate the exam assessment mark before it can be published. Only the overall exam mark/grade will be published to the student (not the components or items).You can calculate the course results even if marks are missingIf you need to calculate the course results in order to publish an exam mark, you can still do this even if marks are missing for other assessments. In this case the overall result won't be correct yet but it can be recalculated once all the marks are in.When you press calculate any missing marks will automatically be populated with "did not attempt".
