Navigation

View our guidance on navigating a Degree Programme Table (DPT) structure within EUCLID, including the group intrays for creating new DPTs, and the display of compulsory and elective courses by the years of the DPT.

There are three methods of viewing DPTs in EUCLID:

  1. Amend DPT
  2. View Current DPT
  3. View Future DPT

If you are a 'DPT Editor' you will be able to see the 'Amend DPT' link within EUCLID, and edit those that are for your school, however, everyone with access to EUCLID can view a read only version of each DTP via the 'View Current DPT' and View Future DPT'.

The guidance below covers the 'Amend' method in details, however, the 'View Current DPT' and 'View Future DPT' methods have not been enhanced as a result of the 'Assessment & Progression' project and so the links to our existing guidance can be seen in the 'Related pages' section at the bottom of this page.

Students are automatically enroled, or 'Seeded' onto 'Compulsory courses' 6 weeks prior to their programme study start date.

Student meet with their Student Adviser or Student Support Team to enrol on the 'Elective courses'.

The student is required to choose a combination of 'Elective courses' to make up the credits needed to complete each year.  In the example below, students can choose from two 20 credit courses, and another 20 credit course from a choice or 3 courses, and a further set of courses adding up to 40 credits from a collection of subject based courses.

The structure build into your DPT will supply the rules and validation required to govern the students online course enrolment choices, and safeguard against students taking too few credits to progress in their studies.

Navigating a DPT in an 'Edit' mode

In 'Edit' mode, you can see various additional facilities to assist you in editing your DPT.

The edit facilities allow you to reorder compulsory courses by 'drag and drop', overwrite your DPT structure with that of another DPT via the 'Import DPT' button, and add, remove and edit courses within the 'Compulsory and 'Elective' sections.
