How to add/update a step/request in an open case.

How to add a new step/request within an open case?

1. In the CMS dashboard, click on the ‘edit’ button next to the relevant case which will open the case.

2. Click the "+Add request" button

3. Use the drop down menus for ‘request type’ to select the options that reflect the step you wish to create.

4. You can also choose a request status which indicates where the responsibilities lie with completing this step.

5. Once you have selected both, click ‘continue’.

How do I update the status of a case or step in a case?

6. When you open a case, ensure you select the step you wish to update within the case. You do this by clicking on the link of that step and the details will expand underneath.

​7. You will see options to:

  • Update the priority or status of a step in a case
  • Assign the step to a specific member of SDS staff
  • Enter appointment details
  • Complete that step

8. Make the changes you wish to make and click the ‘update case’ button at the bottom of the page. NB: if you enter appointment details in the case, an email confirming these details will automatically be sent to the student.

How to a close a step within a case, or the whole case

10. Under the ‘update case’ an outcome type as appropriate.
