If an assessment has already been scaled and you need to change the marks you'll need to remove the scaling in order to calculate a new course result. There may be times when an item, component or assessment is scaled but you need to change a mark afterwards. For example due to special circumstances or the student was a null sit and their previous assessment was scaled. You can see marks have been scaled for a student because a blue 'S' flag will appear in the Process Course Results screen beside their name. If you open their little i button you'll also see the flag next to the specific mark that was scaled. You need to remove the scaling in order to calculate a new course result. If you don't remove the scaling the course result will not change when you recalculate it. This only applies to assessments that have been scaled. For example if you have two assessments - Coursework and Exam - and the Exam was scaled but you need to change a Coursework mark, you can still do this and recalculate a new course result as usual. But if you need to change one of the Exam marks, you'll need to remove scaling to get a new result. How to change marks for a scaled assessment Go to the Process Course Results screen Locate the student and open their little i button Click the Remove scaling button which shows next to the scaled mark Select "Just remove scaling" Change the mark Calculate a new course result Now that scaling has been removed, you may need to apply it again depending on the circumstances.
