How to change a student's disability category and consent information. Disability categories are selected in 3 ways: When the student makes a selection on their UCAS form this is transferred to EUCLID during the admissions process. When a student registers each academic year, they can select their disability descriptors. They can’t then change it during the year, only during registration. By DLSS staff when a student registers with us and/or is diagnosed with a disability/condition. School staff do not have sight of the disability descriptor on the student record. They will only know the disability category if this information is added to the text box on the student's SoA or if one of their adjustments includes details of the disability (or if the student tells them directly). Some University staff receive some disability descriptor information in report format, e.g. timetabling staff receive a list of students who might have mobility issues to try and mitigate timetabling problems. Any student who has a SoA or is receiving some support based on their disability must have a disability option selected in their records so we can produce the required statistics for HESA. More than one disability category can be chosen. The list of disabilities only appears if the student (or DLSS staff) selects 'One or more disabilities, impairments, health conditions or learning differences' on the student's record. To update a disability category Open the student's record on EUCLID Under the Disability details section (which is only visible to DLSS) select Edit in the right-hand corner. Select One or more disabilities, impairments, health conditions or learning differences Select the correct disability categories. Select the correct option against Disability Allowance. Choose No if the student's support is funded by the University (DSSF) or the student is applying for DSA but the funding has not yet been confirmed. The option will be changed to Yes once funding has been granted Choose Yes, if the student is DSA funded and this funding has been confirmed (i.e. we have received the funding letter).
