These bursaries offer financial assistance to undergraduate students who enter university with HND. From session 2013-2014, SAAS introduced a 'plus one' rule. You can use the 'plus one' year to cover year one of a degree for HND holders. If your entitlement to have your tuition fees paid does not cover all years of your new course, (you can only receive up to 2 years full funding for an HN course. (For example, an HNC and year 2 of an HND or year 1 and 2 of an HND), you can apply for a FE Transition Bursary. The rules relating to entitlement to tuition fee support are complicated. If you are in any doubt about your entitlement, you should contact (SAAS) as soon as possible for advice. Image Eligibility Students must be admitted to the first year of a full-time programme of study rather than entering second year directly. FE Transition Bursaries are awarded to students with home fees status for payment of tuition fees only. Normally, students are awarded an FE Transition Bursary for one year only as they are eligible for assistance with their tuition fees for their subsequent years of study. Students can still apply for a student loan through the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). Student Awards Agency for Scotland Advice Students can seek advice on eligibility for a FE Transition Bursary from any of the EUSA Advice Place Offices.
