Open to women training for professional, commercial or technical work. Interest free loans of around £1,000 are available. Loans are repaid by monthly instalment. Applications must be made in writing stating the reason for applying and giving proof of satisfactory health. The names of 2 referees (not relatives) are required, one of whom should know the applicant and the family situation well, and the other should be the principal of the school or college at which she was educated. The name(s) of at least one guarantor should also be supplied. Applicants should make their application to the Society for Promoting the Training of Women.
