Funding for students from Republic of Ireland To be eligible for full support (tuition fees, loan, bursary and living-costs grants), you must:be an Irish national who is settled in the UK on the relevant datehave been ordinarily resident in the UK, Islands or Ireland for the 3 years immediately before the relevant datebe ordinarily resident in Scotland on the relevant dateYou do not need to have settled or pre-settled status through the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS).However, if you are applying for funding as the family member of an Irish national you would need to have protected rights under the withdrawal agreement. Those who are awaiting an outcome of their application or appealing the Home Office’s decision are eligible to receive funding, as long as they meet the other criteria.
