Alexander Darling Prize A prize is awarded to the students with the best overall performance in 'Global Challenges for Business' and ‘The Business of Edinburgh’ respectively. Colin Gilbert Dunnan Prize A prize is awarded to for the Best Overall Performance in Year 2 in a Business School MA (Hons) degree. Ella Pentland Campbell Prize A prize is awarded to the best woman student reading for a Business School MA (Hons) degree in Accounting. Irvine Lapsley Prize A prize is awarded to the student with the highest degree classification average across the Programmes Accounting & Finance MA (Hons) and Accounting & Business MA (Hons). Merchant Company Prize A prize is awarded to the most distinguished dissertation on a topic in Accounting. Irvine Lapsley Prize for the Best Undergraduate Accounting Dissertation A prize is awarded to the student with the most distinguished dissertation on a topic in Accounting, from students on the Programmes Accounting and Finance MA (Hons) and Accounting and Business MA (Hons). Iain Isdale Hird Prize A prize is awarded to the most distinguished dissertation submitted for a Business School MA (Hons) degree, in any Business subject area. W V Stevens Prize A prize is awarded annually for the Best Overall Performance in a Business School MA (Hons) degree. The fund was established in 1990 by members of the Stevens Family to commemorate the life of W V Stevens, who was founder of the University of Edinburgh Commerce Graduates' Association and who retained a long association with the University of Edinburgh. Robertson Ness Travelling Scholarship Purpose To enable young students to travel abroad in order to study and research any aspects of business. The successful student(s) would be expected to undertake their travel and research during the summer vacation. This is an excellent opportunity to collect data for dissertations. Students who are currently spending their third year abroad as part of their degree programme are also eligible to apply. Value of award: up to £1,000. Up to three Scholarships may be awarded each year. Criteria for selection: The following factors will be taken into consideration: the quality of the academic record, proposed travel and research plans, record of service to the community and a reference from their Personal Tutor if the candidate is selected for interview. Each of these is important - academic performance is not the sole criterion. The committee looks particularly for evidence of originality of the proposal and its practicality within the budget of £1,000. Applications are invited from all Undergraduate and taught Postgraduate students studying at the University of Edinburgh Business School who are undertaking Business Studies as a major part of their degree (MA Honours degrees, MSc and MBA degrees).
