Funding is available at both the PhD and Masters level. A number of research scholarships are available each year to new postgraduate research students within the School of Informatics.Up to ten full scholarships are available each year for each of our Centres for Doctoral Training. A number of other available scholarships are detailed below. Edinburgh Doctoral College Scholarships The University will offer PhD scholarships for students starting their PhD research at the University in the 2026-2027 academic session. John Fisher High Performance Computing (HPC) Masters Scholarships The John Fisher High Performance Computing (HPC) Masters Scholarship aims to support the development of the HPC workforce by providing the best students funding for a Masters in HPC or HPC with Data Science. Spärck AI Scholarship The Spärck AI scholarships will enable undergraduate students with exceptional talent to receive new funding to study at the University, providing unparalleled access to industry partnerships, work placements and mentorship opportunities on full time MSc programmes for the 2026 intake. The Canon Medical Europe Postgraduate Scholarships The Canon Medical Europe Women in Informatics Scholarship will fund four UK domiciled students who identify as female and who have been accepted on a postgraduate programme at the School of Informatics. G-Research PhD Scholarships G-Research PhD Scholarships funds 3 PhD scholarships over a 3-year period (2025-2028). They are awarded to Home/UK students wishing to study PhD programmes hosted in the UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training for Designing Responsible Natural Language Processing in the School of Informatics.
