Edinburgh Surgery Online Global Scholarships

Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees, subject to satisfactory progress. 

A limited number of scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are accepted for admission on to the MSc Surgical Sciences programme.

Applicants must be a national AND a resident of a Low-income or a Lower-middle-income countries for the entirety of the studies. Please click HERE for the full list.

Please note that to be eligible for the fully-funded scholarship:

• Applicants must be a national AND resident in an eligible LMIC – Check World Bank Listing as these change each year.
• Applicants must have applied for the MSc Surgical Sciences programme and have already been offered at least a conditional offer. The applicant should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.  Preference will be given to those who have an unconditional offer at time of the scholarship application deadline. 

1) Include statements which address of the following: 

• Please provide details of your current employer and post
• A summary of your career objectives and how the programme and scholarship will assist you in attaining these.
• Outline how undertaking this course of study will benefit your career?
• Outline how you envisage this course enhancing your working practices to improve patient care in your country? 

2) Provide a Letter of Support with your scholarship application from your local Educational/Training Supervisor or Director by sending it to eso.scholarships@ed.ac.uk by 23.59 (UK Time) on 29th May 2026.

Offers for scholarships will be made competitively. Funding will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the strength of your personal statement.
