The South of Scotland Youth Awards Trust provides financial assistance to young people between the ages of 17 and 25, whose home is in the South of Scotland, to take part in projects designed to broaden their experience, develop confidence, and further their careers. Grants are made annually towards a variety of projects which have in the past, included medical electives overseas, teaching or assisting in community work in developing countries, participating in musical festivals overseas, in environmental schemes, and adventure training on recognised expeditions such as those arranged by Raleigh International and the Sail Training Association. This year the trust will award grants of up to £2,000. For further information and an application pack, please write to the Trust.
