Eligibility

Doctoral training accounts

EPSRC offers postgraduate funding through Doctoral Training Partnerships which are allocated directly to universities, through Centres for Doctoral Training and through industrial CASE - research awards available in collaboration with industry.  Candidates cannot apply directly to EPSRC but rather should indicate that they wish to be considered for a studentship on their postgraduate application form.

Academic requirements

The minimum academic requirement for an award is an upper second-class Honours degree or the equivalent. For MPhil/PhD awards, some research councils require candidates to have completed a formal Master's research training programme.
