The Fennell Masters Scholarship

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology invites applications from outstanding candidates for the Fennell Masters Scholarship for 2025-2026 entry.

This scholarship will support a talented postgraduate student to complete one of the full-time, on-campus MSc programmes in History, with a preference for students from outside the UK, with further preference for students who have completed their undergraduate studies at an institution within the United States. The scholarship will cover full fees (UK or overseas) as well as a stipend at the UKRI rate (for guidance, in 2024-2025, this was £19,237).

The scholarships will be awarded to new applicants who have applied for admission to a History Masters Postgraduate degree programme of study at the University commencing in September 2025, with a preference given to applicants on taught programmes. Those applying for an online MSc programme, as well as current MSc students, are not eligible to apply for the Fennell Masters Scholarship.

Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level.

Further information on how to apply and the application deadlines for 2025/2026 entry can be found at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology.
