Skyscanner has created a new Accessibility and Inclusion Award to recognise and celebrate disability inclusion by students in their dissertations. About the awardThis award will be presented to the student whose dissertation exhibits a deep understanding of an accessibility and inclusion problem, and showcases a creative and practical solution that directly benefits members of the disabled community. There will be a monetary prize of £500, awarded at the end of the 2024-2025 academic session.EligibilityAll students at the University of Edinburgh writing a dissertation within the School of Informatics starting from the 2024-2025 academic year are eligible for the annual award. Students can be proposed by their supervisor or can propose themselves.About the selection processA shortlist will be created by the University of Edinburgh teaching staff in the Informatics department and given to Skyscanner for judging. Each applicant will be asked to fill out a submission form, summarising their dissertation through answering a number of set questions. A short video will also be requested.How to ApplyPlease complete the Nomination Form by 30th April of the current year. You may self-nominate or nominate a UG/MInf student you believe is eligible for this prize.Once nominated, the student will be contacted to complete a submission form, which includes summarizing their dissertation by answering a set of questions. They will also be asked to submit a short video.Application outcomeThe final outcome will be a joint decision by Informatics staff and Skyscanner.
