An agreement has been made between the University of Edinburgh and the Association of Turkish Alumni and Students in Scotland, to establish and fund an award for Turkish PhD students at the University of Edinburgh. There will be 10 awards made in the academic year of 2025/26. Each award will consist of a one-off payment of £300. About ATAS ATAS, or the Association of Turkish Alumni and Students in Scotland, is a Scottish Charity dedicated to fostering connections among Turkish alumni and students in Scotland and beyond. Our mission at ATAS is to provide opportunities for social and professional networking, promote volunteering, and support students and alumni in their academic and career journeys. As an organization, we value collaboration and community-building. Awards There will be 10 awards made in the academic year of 2025/26. Each award will consist of a one-off payment of £300. Eligibility To be eligible to apply for an ATAS Award, an applicant must: Be a Turkish national with a valid Turkish passport: proof of Turkish citizenship is required.Be currently enrolled or commencing in a PhD level programme in the 2025/26 academic year. Applying This award is available to any student who has accepted an unconditional offer on a PhD programme and meets the eligibility criteria outlined above. If you are deemed eligible, the Scholarships and Student Funding Team will reach out with a link to the application process.Applications will close on 22nd October 2025 Notification The University of Edinburgh Scholarships team will inform successful scholarship applicants once the applications have closed. This is likely to be mid-November 2025.
