The BJS Foundation LMIC Scholarship is open to applicants for the Surgical Writing and Evidence Based Practice (Online Learning) PgCert, PgProfDev programme. Awards Up to 10 scholarships will be available for 2026/2027 entry.The Scholarship will cover full tuition fees towards the PgProfDev or PgCert in Surgical Writing and Evidence Based Practice. The maximum scholarship award available for 2026/2027 entry is £5070. Eligibility The BJS Foundation LMIC Scholarship will be awarded to applicants who are:Accepted for admission to the PgCert or PgProfDev Surgical Writing and Evidence Based Practice (online learning) programme in the 2026-2027 academic year, andA national AND resident in an eligible LMIC – Please check World Bank Listing as these change each year (https://datahelpdesk.worldbank.org/knowledgebase/articles/906519-world-bank-country-and-lending-groups). Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Preference will be given to those who have an unconditional offer at time of the scholarship application deadline. Criteria As part of your application, applicants must also include a personal statement which confirms and/or addresses each of the following questions (500 words maximum):Confirm your current employer and your current post.Outline your career objectives and how these objectives will be enhanced by completion of the PgCert/PgProfDev in Surgical Writing and Evidence Based Practice.Any additional information that you believe will enhance your application.The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the strength of your personal statement. Applying Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application.In order to gain access to the scholarship application system applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh.
