Norma Robertson Postgraduate Masters Scholarship

The School is pleased to invite applications from outstanding candidates for 2026-2027 entry.

This scholarship commemorates Rev Dr Norma Robertson. Normal Robertson (1941-2024) was born and educated in Edinburgh. After a career in financial services, she was called to the Ministry of the Church of Scotland and gained her BD at New College, University of Edinburgh, in 1991. She later graduated with an MDiv from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and with an MTh in Theology and History from New College. She was Associate Minister in East Kilbride and then Minister in Kincardine O'Neill linked with Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire until her retirement. She was passionate about the study of the Bible and of Church History and Theology, and always keen to share her interests with fellow students of all ages.

The Rev Dr Norma P Robertson Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has applied for a postgraduate master’s programme in Biblical Studies or Theology in History.

One scholarship is available which will cover full tuition fees (please note that you will still need to fund your living costs - https://study.ed.ac.uk/postgraduate/fees-funding/living-costs). The scholarship award holder is expected to be an energetic member of our postgraduate community, and will engage with opportunities to present their work to the wider student and staff body during the period covered by their award.  We offer our postgraduates a range of training and development opportunities appropriate to their programme of study.

The scholarship will be awarded to a new applicant who has applied for admission to either the MTh/MSc Biblical Studies or MTh Theology in History programmes, commencing in September 2026.
