The University of Edinburgh and The Cowrie Scholarship Foundation (CSF) will offer at least one scholarship to support Black African and Caribbean heritage applicants from socio-economically challenged backgrounds. Applicants must be ordinarily resident in the UK and commencing an undergraduate study in the academic year 2024-2025. The Cowrie Scholarship Foundation wants to fund 100 Black British students through UK universities in the next decade. This award does not affect eligibility for Access Edinburgh Scholarship and both awards can be held at the same time. A total financial package of up to £8,000. Further information on the Access Edinburgh Scholarship can be found here Eligibility Applicants must satisfy the following to be considered for this scholarship: Have one of the following categories of ethnicity: Black African; Black Caribbean; Black Other; Mixed – White and Black Caribbean; Mixed – White and Black African; or Other mixed background (to include Black African, Black Caribbean or Black Other) Accepted for admission to a first undergraduate full time degree programme at the University of Edinburgh commencing study in the 2024-2025 academic year. Have been assessed for fee status as a 'home' student. Made an application to the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) for tuition fee support and maintenance loan or Student Finance (England, Wales or Northern Ireland) for tuition fee and maintenance loans. Confirmation you will be in receipt of full financial support for the 2024-2025 academic year. Please ensure you have given consent to share the information with the University, as this information will be used to determine eligibility. Criteria Priority will be given to applicants whose household income is assessed as £23,999 or less. Applicants with a household income of between £24,000 and £33,900 may also apply.
