The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation are offering Doctoral Scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic session. Awards The scholarship awards $40,000 per year for three years, plus up to an additional $20,000 annually for three years to support research-related travel, each scholarship holder is also paired with an accomplished Canadian mentor. Eligibility The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are applying to study a full-time PhD programme in the humanities and social sciences in the 2021-2022 academic year and who have accepted an offer of admission by 5th January 2021 or on-programme students in their first or second year of a full-time PhD programme in the humanities and social sciences. Applicants must be Canadian citizens. The Foundation encourages a range of applicants from the full range of disciplines within the humanities and social sciences. Past Foundation scholars have studied anthropology, communications, criminology, economics, environmental sciences, history, law, literature, management sciences, philosophy, political science, public health, social work, and sociology, among others. Applying Candidates interested in the Foundation’s doctoral scholarships should visit Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation to register for an account on the Foundation’s new application portal. Once their registration is complete, candidates will be able to create an application for the 2021 Competition. The deadline to submit an application to the portal is 11:59pm EST on 5th January 2021.
