Authorised Interruption of Study Policy

This policy has been extensively updated to ensure a consistent, facilitative approach for students requesting an Authorised Interruption of Study. It now includes separate sections for Taught and PGR students, guidance on return-to-study plans, and a number of other clarifications to enhance ease of use and inclusivity.

Withdrawal and Exclusion from Studies Procedure

The updated procedure includes changes to interview outcomes, a more comprehensive list of exclusion categories, and a revised readmission section clarifying when excluded or voluntarily withdrawn students can reapply to study at the University.

The procedure will be published on 15 September.

Changes to exams extra time for students with special arrangements

The University is returning to a percentage-based extra time allowance for exams, effective from the start of 2025/26. This is a move away from the blanket +1-hour extension, to the percentage outlined in individual Schedule of Adjustments. Students are directed to support from the Disability and Learning Support Service, as well as their Student Adviser, for any questions they may have.
