What we do

Academic Quality and Standards maintains the frameworks which assure the academic standards of the University's awards and enhance the quality of the student learning experience, and supports the effective running of Senate and its committees.

Academic Quality and Standards:

• Maintain and develop the University’s framework of academic regulations, policies and processes;
• Develop and manage the University’s quality assurance and enhancement framework;
• Ensure that these frameworks support the student and staff experience, align with the University's strategic priorities, and are compliant with external requirements;
• Support the effective running of Senate, its committees and associated groups;
• Provide expert advice, guidance and support on academic regulations, policies and processes and the operation of Senate, its committees and associated groups;
• Contribute expertise to support University strategic initiatives; and
• Maintain links with sector developments and external regulatory requirements to inform the University’s academic governance.
