Accreditation and collaboration

Information on collaborative provision with partner organisations and accreditation by professional, statutory and regulatory bodies.

Collaborative agreements

Collaborative agreements are delivered, supported and assessed through an agreed arrangement with a partner organisation. Information on current collaborative agreements and guidance for developing a new collaborative agreement is available on the Academic Collaborative Agreements wiki.

For information on establishing a new Partnership, please see the Partnerships Toolkit on Edinburgh Global's website.

Accreditations

Responsibility for managing accreditations lies with the School, subject area or student support service.  In terms of interaction with quality framework processes, accreditations are integrated within:

  • Internal periodic review (academic)
  • Annual monitoring, review and reporting (academic)
  • Student support service annual review
  • Thematic review

Colleges, through their Quality Committees, and Schools should maintain oversight of accreditations and follow-up actions.

The University reports annually to the Scottish Funding Council on the programmes that were accredited during the academic year by Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs). Schools are responsible for the accuracy of their data on accreditation. For information on maintaining accreditation in EUCLID.

Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC)

The University and Scotland’s Rural College have in place a validation arrangement whereby the University, as the degree-awarding body, judges specified programmes developed and delivered by SRUC as being of an appropriate standard and quality to lead to one if its awards, thereby granting SRUC accredited status as an Accredited Institution of the University.
