If you are coming to the UK for a Pre-sessional English language programme, you will need to attend your first International Check-in appointment after you arrive in June. The process is different depending on if you were issued a single or a combined CAS. Appointments will be booked for you by the Centre for Open Learning. Steps for International Check-in with a single CAS Step 1: Upload your passport to MyEd (if you have not already done so) HTML You should take a clear, colour photo (or a scan) of the personal details page of your passport. To upload your passport: Log in to MyEd. Select Accounts>Progression>My Student Record. Click the Immigration tab. Click ‘Add a new passport’ or ‘Edit information’ for a passport that has already been uploaded. You must make sure that all fields are completed in the passport section. We will contact you with the date, time and location of your appointment. You will need to bring your passport and evidence of when you entered the UK. If you received an entry stamp in your passport when you entered the UK, you can just bring your passport. If you didn’t receive an entry stamp, you will need to bring your boarding pass or another document showing your travel dates. Book your international check in appointmentStep 3: Apply to extend your visa and provide evidence of your in-time visa applicationAfter you have completed your Pre-sessional English Language programme, you will be issued with a new Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), which you will use to extend your visa. You must submit and pay for a Student Visa extension online before your current visa expiry date. You will need to stay inside the UK whilst waiting for your visa decision. Once you've received a CAS and applied to extend your visa, the Student Immigration Service will email you with further guidance on how to complete the international check-in process for your main programme. It is important that you keep a close eye on your emails and that you respond promptly to any requests for documentation, such as, proof of your visa application. Not doing so will put your record at risk.After you have provided any required documentation, you will be temporarily matriculated and able to start your programme. However, you will still need to complete Step 4 once your visa has been approved. Waiting for your new CAS Your new CAS will be issued after you have completed your pre-sessional programme. We will prepare your new CAS as soon as possible. Please do not email or come in person to ask for your CAS, as this will cause delays. When you receive your new CAS, it is important that you check the information carefully before confirming the details. Step 4: Provide evidence of your new Student visaOnce your Student visa application has been approved you must provide evidence that your visa has been granted in order to fully complete your matriculation on your main programme. Your new visa will be digital and you will need to get a share code from the UKVI website and send it to us: Get a share code from UKVI to prove your immigration status Send us your eVisa shade code Document Student visas - digital grant (743.81 KB / PDF) Your matriculation will not be fully complete until you have provided evidence of your new Student. Steps for International Check-in with a combined CAS If you were issued with a combined CAS, you will be issued a Student visa to cover your pre-sessional and your main degree. You do not need to extend your visa. After arrival, you must complete one international check-in appointment to provide us with your visa documents.You should upload your passport to MyEd and attend an appointment with your passport, your visa decision letter, send us your eVisa share code and entry date evidence.
