What to do once your visa has been approved Once your visa has been approved, a vignette (visa sticker) will be added to your passport and you can start to plan your travel to the UK. You can only arrive in the UK on or after the start date of your vignette. Get your passport backYou will have to: pick up your passport at the visa application centre, orwait for your passport to be posted to you, orbring your passport to the visa application centre (this will depend on the country you apply from and on the service you have paid for) Your passport will have a vignette inside it. This is a visa sticker which will allow you to travel to the UK and state the conditions of your visa. The vignette is valid for 30 days or in some cases for 90 days. Once you arrive in the UK, you will collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), which contains the full details of your immigration permission. You need to contact the visa application centre if there is any error in your personal details or visa dates.Travel to and arrive in the UK You must have received your Student visa before you travel to the UK. What you need to know about travelling to the UK Collect your BRP (if collecting from a post office) You must collect your BRP after arriving in the UK. When you applied for your visa, you will have chosen whether to collect your BRP from a local post office or from the University. If you chose to have it delivered to a local post office, you will need to collect it first and bring it with you to International Check-in. If you chose to pick up your BRP from the University, you can do this during International Check-in.
