Immigration News New Online Immigration Status - eVisa:UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) are developing a new digital immigration system, that will be in full operation from 2025 onwards. Physical visa documents are gradually being replaced with an online record of immigration status. This digital status will be known as an 'eVisa'. Please see our guidance page for further details. In the future, an 'eVisa' will be used to travel to the UK and act as evidence of visa permission. Your current passport must be registered and kept up to date in your UKVI online account (linked to eVisa status).Visa holders with a valid biometric residence permit (BRP) expiring on 31 December 2024:Until 31 December 2024 you must continue to carry your valid BRP, if you have one as this is your physical visa document for travel. Please check your initial UKVI visa grant email/letter for your actual visa expiry date. UKVI will let you know about registering for a UKVI online account and how to access the 'eVisa', before the 31 December 2024 expiry date of your BRP.
