Non-Visa Nationals coming as a Visitor for less than 6 months

There is a new electronic travel authorisation (ETA) scheme for visitors to the UK (non-visa nationals without a visa). A non-visa national who has no visa will need an ETA, before they can travel to request entry as a Visitor. Whether you apply depends on the date you intend to travel and your nationality.

There is a new Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) scheme from 4 February 2025: If you’re a Ukrainian national, or the family member of a Ukrainian national, and are living in the UK with existing visa permission on one of the Ukraine schemes, you may be eligible to apply for UPE to continue living in the UK for up to a further 18 months. You can only make a free online UPE visa application up to 28 days before your visa expiry date. If granted successfully, you'll be able to continue to live, work and study in the UK and access public funds.
