Extra documents (supported by a parent, guardian or partner)

You will need to provide extra documents if the bank account is in the name of a parent, guardian or partner.

A parent 

If your parent is supporting you, then you will need to provide: 

  • official proof of your relationship (for example, a birth certificate that states your name and your parent's name)  

  • a letter written by your parent that states their permission and your relationship 

A legal guardian 

If your legal guardian is supporting you, then you will need to provide: 

  • a legal document to prove your guardianship   

  • a letter written by your guardian that states their permission and your relationship 

Your partner 

If your partner is supporting you, then you will need to provide: 

  • evidence that proves your relationship with your partner (for example, a marriage certificate)

Translations of any documents that are not in English

Any documents that are not in English must be translated by a professional translator. You must submit a fully certified translation that includes:  

  • the date of the translation   

  • the full name of the translator   

  • the signature of the translator or an employee of the translation company   

  • the translator's contact details or the translation company's details  

  • a confirmation that the document is an accurate translation
