How to check your BRP and what to do if you find an error 

You must check if the following information is correct: 

• your name 

• your sex  

• your place of birth  

• your date of birth

• your nationality  

You must check the number is: 23CYGN5K3 

If your programme is degree level (for example, an undergraduate degree) 

You can work 20 hours per week. 

If your programme is below degree level (International Foundation or pre-sessional English programme) 

You can work 10 hours per week. 

Your visa should cover the full length of your programme, plus a ‘wrap-up period’. This wrap-up period will vary depending on your programme length.  

Length of your programme 

• If your programme is 12 months or longer, then the wrap-up period will be 4 months.
• If your programme is 6-12 months, then the wrap-up period will be 2 months.  
• If your programme is less than 6 months, then the wrap-up period will be 1 week. 

Pre-sessional English programme  

If your programme is less than 6 months, then the wrap-up period will be 1 month.
