Visiting student fees 2023-2024

You are a visiting postgraduate student if you:

• are registered on a postgraduate degree at another higher education institution
• plan to study or conduct research at the University of Edinburgh for a short period of time (for less than, or up to, one year).

Credit gained and/or research conducted at the University will transfer back to your home institution and may count towards your final qualification.

You will not graduate from the University of Edinburgh.

All visiting students who attend the University for more than two weeks will be registered on the University’s student record system.

Postgraduate taught student fees

As a visiting postgraduate taught student you will need to pay tuition fees for studying at the University of Edinburgh.

Fees for full academic year

If you are admitted for a full academic year you will be charged the full relevant annual tuition fee.

Fees for one semester

If you are admitted for one semester you will be charged 33% of the relevant annual tuition fee.

Fees for part-time intermittent study

If you are admitted on a part-time intermittent basis you will be charged tuition fees proportionally to the appropriate full-time fee, calculated on the basis of the number of credits undertaken.
