EU students who may be eligible for 'home' status

This applies to EU, EEA and Swiss nationals with settled status living in the UK before the end of 2020 and who have been ordinary resident in the UK, EU, EEA or Switzerland for the 3 years prior to the relevant date.

If you're from the EU

This applies to EU, EEA and Swiss nationals with pre-settled status living in the UK before the end of 2020 and who have been ordinary resident in the UK, EU, EEA or Switzerland for the 3 years prior to the relevant date.   

If you're from the EEA or Switzerland, and are a self-employed or migrant worker in the UK

This applies to EEA and Swiss nationals living in the UK before the end of 2020 who have pre-settled status and meet the existing migrant worker or self-employed conditions, and also meet the residency conditions of three years in the UK, EEA, EU or Switzerland. 

If you’re from Switzerland or a non-EU country that's in the EEA* and aren’t a migrant worker

This applies to non-EU EEA and Swiss nationals living in the UK before the end of 2020 who have pre-settled status but DO NOT meet existing migrant worker conditions.

If you live in the UK

This applies to EU, EEA and Swiss nationals moving to live in the UK after 31 December 2020 without any other form of settled immigration status. 

This applies to Irish nationals living in Scotland on the relevant date, who meet the conditions of three years ordinary residence in the UK. Your residence in Scotland must not be solely attributable to the purpose of receiving education.

This applies to Irish nationals living in England, Wales or Northern Ireland on the relevant date, who meet the conditions of three years ordinary residence in the UK. Your residence in the UK must not be solely attributable to the purpose of receiving education.

If you will be 'ordinarily resident' in Scotland on the relevant date 

Your fee status will depend on your circumstances, including how long you have lived in Scotland and whether this is your main home.

This applies to dual UK/EU nationals resident elsewhere in the UK. 

If you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland and have lived in the EU

This applies to dual UK/EU nationals resident elsewhere in the UK who lived in another EU member state before 31 December 2020. You must have been ordinary resident in the UK, EEA or Switzerland for 3 years prior to the relevant date.
