The University has listened to feedback from our students, and we are working to improve your experience with teaching timetables and course selection and enrolment. You told us that late timetables, last-minute changes, and uncertainty around course availability were making it difficult to plan your academic year.To address this, we're working to provide a stable and accurate timetable for your whole academic year. Once in place, you'll get your timetable earlier, giving you more time to plan and make arrangements for part-time work, caring responsibilities or commuting. We're also reducing last-minute changes and providing greater clarity on course options and availability, making it easier to choose and enrol onto those courses available to you. With more efficient timetabling, the University will make even better use of its teaching rooms and facilities, creating more opportunities for you to learn, collaborate and socialise with your peers. This more flexible approach aims to improve your experience at Edinburgh. Timeline for improvementsDelivering all these improvements requires coordination across multiple teams, systems and policies. Hence, we are taking a phased approach. We anticipate improvements being available in the 2027/28 academic year, with the full solution in place by 2028/29. This will make it easier for you to both plan and navigate your full academic year from day one.Get involvedWe would like you to help shape the details of these improvements to ensure they meet your needs and expectations.
