Academic Development is able to support a small number of application fees for colleagues to apply directly to AdvanceHE for Senior and Principal Fellowship. If Academic Development agrees to fund your application to AdvanceHE, Academic Development colleagues will provide comments on one draft of your application. If you require more mentorship support than this for your application, please consider instead, applying to undertake the Edinburgh Teaching Award. Prioritisation process for requesting support, and relevant deadlinesWe prioritise applications as follows: We currently only support colleagues to apply directly to Advance HE for Senior Fellowship or Principal Fellowship.Participants must be willing to either contribute 40 hours per year to mentoring and/or assessing on the Edinburgh Teaching Award for two years after a successful application OR be willing to set up or co-lead a new local mentoring scheme in their School/Service.Applicants must have time to prepare and submit their application by 1 July 2027.Normally, no more than 1 application per University of Edinburgh School/Service will be authorised in each funding round. School/Services who currently have fewer SFHEA and PFHEA will be prioritised. Applicants with current or near future leadership roles relating to learning and teaching will be prioritised. DeadlinesDeadlines: We will look at requests for funding twice per year, either submit your request to us by Thursday 10 December 2026 or Thursday 8 April 2027.
