2018 Conference - Inspiring Learning

The first University of Edinburgh Learning and Teaching Conference was on Wednesday 20th June 2018 at the John MacIntyre Conference Centre, Pollock Halls of Residence.

Keynote speakers

We were delighted to be joined by two keynote speakers:

  • Prof Amy B M Tsui, University of Hong Kong. Transforming Student Learning: the journey of a university-wide curriculum reform.
  • Dr Torgny Roxå, Lund University, Sweden. Strong and weak ties – changing teaching cultures in higher education

Colleagues from around the University of Edinburgh delivered a variety of engaging parallel sessions throughout the day.

Conference theme

The theme for the conference was Inspiring Learning and there were six subthemes:

  • Enhancing engagement and creating community within UoE
  • Inclusive curriculum 
  • Research-led teaching
  • Digital education
  • Assessment and Feedback
  • Preparing graduates for the future
